ISSWG

The ISSWG (IASI Sounding Science Working Group) is the scientific advisory body to both CNES and EUMETSAT for all matters related to IASI and IASI-NG.

Its members have been selected following an announcement of opportunity in November 1995. Some changes in membership occured at the beginning of the second phase (2000).

Its role is to advise CNES/EUMETSAT on the adequation between instrument specifications and mission objectives. It gives recommendations to CNES/EUMETSAT on the direction of future work and participates in the coordination of the ISSWG activities with external groups. The ISSWG group also provides the IASI Science plan which details the mission needs.
